Euro Linguistic Programming started with the study of excellent communicators. How to be understood by someone even if he disagrees with you? The answer is rapport, a foundation brick of NLP, and the most important method in any communication. Rapport is the ability to get in someone else’s world, to make them believe that you understand them, that you have a strong common ligament. Rapport is the ability to observe each other’s point of view (not necessarily to accept it), to be on the same stage and to appreciate each other’s feelings. When people communicate in rapport they find it very easy to be understood and believe their concerns are blindly and highly regarded by the other person. Rapport means understanding what another is trying to say; not being necessarily agreed with what they said. And when you are in rapport something splendid happens. You and others feel listened to, and well heard.

We are all communicating most of the time, most non-verbally. Even our ingoing thoughts, in effect our internal communications are overwhelmingly passed on to others, through our status, body movements, breathing, facial expressions, gestures, and voice tone or eye movements. Laughter improves your oxygen-rich air intake; it provides stimulation to your heart, lungs and muscles. Laughter also increases the endorphins secretion from your brain. An improved immune system is a long term benefit of laughter.  Negative thoughts manifest into chemical reactions. These reactions can impact your body by bringing more stress. It also leads to a weakening of your immunity. On the other hand, positive thoughts release chemicals that help fight stress and potentially more serious illnesses. Laughter also helps in making difficult situations much easier.

About Neuro Linguistic Programing – NLP

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. NLP approach states that there is a strong connection in the neurological processes, language and behavioural patterns learned through our experiences.

NLP is identified as “An art and science of personal excellence”. NLP understands your behaviour patterns, and what influences behaviour. NLP is well-liked by salespeople because it helps them in communicating more effectively and persuasive with others. Let us consider some examples; if someone tells you “Do not think about blue bus” you would start thinking about a blue bus. This is because your brain isn’t capable of processing the word “don’t”.

If you put up a notice saying “Do not litter”, you would make a person think about litter which can influence him to increase the amount of litter in the area. So “Keep the premises clean” would have been a more appropriate statement to avoid people from messing the area.

Saying “Jim is a nice guy but he is short” places emphasis on Jim being short whereas saying “Jim is a nice guy even though he is short” places emphasis on Tom being a nice guy. Both sentences are grammatically similar for they are both two clauses joined by a conjunction but, linguistically, they create different ideas.

With NLP you may also change your state “Feelings” through Anchoring.The technique of anchoring can be done at work. Actually you can practice anchoring everywhere i.e. at work, home, social places, where you want to bring good change. Anchoring is one of the ways where NLP can help you change the way you think, act, and feel. Once you start practicing different NLP anchoring techniques it will become your second nature.

Just let the words drift in your mind, without any focus on any of them. Accept yourself completely. Whatever kind of person you are, just accept yourself as you are. You are capable of achieving a lot of things and you are a worthwhile person. You can handle all the problems that come your way because you are a strong person…. You are…. a good person…… an okay person.
You are able to remain happy even in difficult circumstances because you deserve to be happy. You’re aware about the truth that worth cannotbe measured by appearance, looks, achievements, wealth or any other external things. You are worthwhile as the way you are”

Remember one thing that you’reunconscious is always aware, in whatever state you are. It always listens to your comments, thoughts and brings them into reality. So instead of thinking anything (good or bad) unknowingly it will always be better to keep on practicing positive affirmations. It automatically moves the negative thoughts out of your mind and sticks the thoughts (affirmations) chosen by you for your betterment, releasing attachment to all negativity in your mind and body.

Let your mind to drift, as you just relax.

Completely relax now; notice the feel good factor about yourself…. allow yourself to feel confident and firm.

Hold these feelings of self-confidence for a while. Visualise it in your own way. Remember and believe the affirmations for self-confidence. Let them percolate in your unconscious mind.”

You need not worry what other people say about your work or whatever you do. If you have applied yourself to your best ability and you put in all the hard work, then you can ignore any unnecessary comments. Remember that when you perform as well as you reasonably can, good people are likely to respond well. But in case people are not fair to you, then understand that this is out of your control. Never get stressed because of unfair comments. If you pay attention to them, you will magnify your stress level unnecessarily. If you feel that the comments are really of worth, use them to make correction in your task and never consider those personally. Taking such unfair comments personally can increase your stress.
